1.Overview
34ZR6Y-L8 type three-position four-port rotary valve is one of the main pneumatic components in the ground blowout preventer control device. This valve is mainly used in the driller's console. Through the reversal of this valve, the reversal of the three-position four-way valve is controlled to realize the opening or closing of the blowout preventer.

The lower valve body, wave spring, sealing ring, valve core, torsion spring, guard, handle, mandrel, pull pin, stop pin and other parts are composed.
This valve has the following characteristics:
The valve core and the sealing ring are sealed by differential pressure, so the higher the air pressure, the better the sealing performance and the more reliable the sealing; the wave spring plays a role of sealing and self-repair after the sealing ring is worn.
There is a torsion spring in the shield of the air rotary valve. When the handle rotates, the reaction force of the torsion spring needs to be overcome. When the external force is removed, the torsion spring drives the handle to automatically reset. Therefore, when there is no external force, the air rotary valve is always in the empty position.
4. Working principle
As shown in Figure 12, this valve has four ports, of which port P is the air inlet, port A and port B are the air outlet, connecting the two chambers of the working cylinder, and port O is the vent port, communicating with the atmosphere.

Closed position--P port is connected with B port, A port is connected with O port. At this time, the compressed air enters the rod cavity of the cylinder through port B, and is driven by the air path
The three-position four-way valve closes the blowout preventer. At the same time, the gas on the other side of the cylinder cavity is vented through the A port of the valve.
5. Repair
The 34ZR6Y-L8 type three-position four-way rotary valve adopts a shear type seal, and generally will not malfunction due to clogging.
If oil leakage occurs to the rotary valve, it is best to replace the entire rotary valve.
If it can be judged that the seals such as the sealing ring, the valve core or the wave spring are malfunctioning, the four screws connecting the upper valve body and the lower valve body can be removed to separate the upper valve body from the lower valve body, and the seal can be removed and replaced Ring, valve core or wave spring.
